Bio-engineering: the new frontier?

According to this report on MIT's website:

One-third of the engineers at MIT now work on biological problems, according to Graham C. Walker, MIT biology professor.

Wow! So the hard engineering problems have been solved and the world's top engineering school can move to areas where biological issues can be attacked with tech-savvy? Or is that where the money is...?
