Boston Blues Festival '05: I

On Thu, 22nd September I saw Eddie Clearwater and Luther "Guitar Junior" Johnson at the Regent Theater in Arlington, Ma as part of the Westside Chicago Blues Reuinon.

Eddie Clearwater is a very flamboyant player with a huge grin on his face always. Luther is more tempered tho' he plays some heavy stuff and commands a great band with a very impressive horn section. It was quite amazing to see the sax and trumpets blending so well in the blues melodies.

Then on 24th Sep, Saturday I went down to the Hatch Shell to take in the the two day festival proper.

I was quite bowled over by Barbeque Bob: awesome harp. Ernie Williams' was another great gig.
